Hello Educators!

Field Trips to Open Source Gallery

Contact us to schedule a free field trip to Open Source Gallery for kids and teens grades K-12, during the school day or after school.

May 13 – 17th (9-5pm)
30 – 60 minutes with age appropriate hands-on activities
Email info@kokonyc.org for more information.

Open Source Gallery (and KoKo NYC, OSG’s education program) would like to invite school groups to visit Monika Drożyńska: Latte Capitalizm the week of May 13 – 17th. School groups will be taken on a tour of the exhibition, learn about the work, and participate in a workshop related to the exhibition.

For many years, Drożyńska has used hand embroidery on fabric as a means of writing, recording, transcription and documentation. Her textiles are devoted to social commentary from the contemporary to the personal to the political exploring issues such as economic, migratory and refugee issues in Europe. Her work deconstructs and expands the boundaries of words and language looking for a common area from seemingly unconnected grammars.

Stay Tuned for future field trip dates:
Zé Kielwagen: Bafo! Beauty Salon, June 17 – 21st
Grace Sachi Troxell, September 23 – 27th
Marlene Hausegger, November 18 – 22nd
