The KoKo NYC Lot is located at 440 19th Street (between 8th Avenue and Prospect Park West) in Brooklyn and offers a great opportunity for field trips. Here, kids can engage in building and sustainability projects.

• What activities does a field trip to the KoKo NYC Lot include?
  • Field trips to the KoKo NYC Lot are generally 90 minutes. A typical field trip schedule would include:
    • Opening Circle: Introductions, introduction to KoKo’s sustainability focus, community agreements and safety guidelines led by KoKo Teaching Artists
    • Building challenge: kids work in small groups with a KoKo Teaching Artist on a building challenge. Kids use found and reclaimed objects, hand saws, and drills to build!
    • Clean up
    • Closing Circle: Debrief and reflections led by KoKo Teaching Artists 
• What ages / grades are the best fit to visit the KoKo NYC Lot? 
  • We work with grades Pre K through High School at the KoKo NYC Lot.
• Is there a maximum number of kids permitted to visit the KoKo NYC Lot for a field trip?
  • Field trips can include up to 30 kids per visit.
  • We maintain a 1 to 5 KoKo staff to kid ratio. 
• Is there a minimum number of kids permitted to visit the KoKo NYC Lot for a field trip?
  • Field trips can be booked with a minimum of 15 kids per visit.
• When can field trips to the KoKo NYC Lot happen?
  • The KoKo NYC Lot is open seasonally from April through November.
  • Field trips generally run from 10AM – 11:30AM on Tuesdays through Fridays.

  • The cost for field trip visits to the KoKo NYC Lot is $22 per kid.
