Workshop Collaborations

KoKo NYC is always looking for new ways to help kids learn and engage their curiosity. One way we are able to do this is by facilitating workshop collaborations.

Fall 2024: Pratt Institute x Trail Blazers at PS 118

Over three weeks in Fall 2024, KoKo NYC facilitated Bit Bots workshop sessions at PS 118 during which Pratt Institute students enrolled in Pratt’s “Product, Environment, Material” class and Trail Blazers’ after school students (grades 3 – 5) traded ideas and worked together to design improved learning spaces!

Week 1: Trail Blazers students completed short surveys about a space in their school that they would like to improve. They also made drawings of the current space and their ideas to make it better.

Week 2: Pratt students reviewed the survey responses and sent back their own ideas and digital drawings about spaces that they want to improve. The Pratt students’ letters further emphasized the way a space can make you feel (physically, emotionally, intellectually).

Week 3: The Pratt students travelled to PS 118 to meet the Trail Blazers students and work together on designing new and improved learning spaces. They also collaborated on digital drawings and models made from recyclable materials.
