Tiny House
Based on the KoKo NYC philosophy of sustainability and kid-centered learning, the Tiny House was built as a mobile workshop totally designed and created by kids. Because it can be driven anywhere, the Tiny House allows us to make our programs even more accessible. It is an on-going project that is always changing–the Tiny House is totally off-the-grid, so kids have to get creative to continue to build on it, making wind and bike generators, water collection tanks, solar ovens and more to power and improve on the workshop!
The Tiny House began in 2018 as a collaboration between KoKo NYC and Gigi Nieson, a student at Pratt Institute. Through a crowdfunding campaign, we raised $15,000 to fund the construction of the Tiny House and present free programs with it throughout NYC.
